About
We learned this because we had to.
Decades in AEC, many companies of our own, and a habit of building the tool when the right one doesn't exist.
The short version
1990
Started in AEC, including ten years on large international design-build campuses.
1993
Helped build a parametric tool that turned single lines into 3D models and CNC-ready shop output, years before commercial BIM.
1998
Founded Rebyte Inc., a Delaware non-profit that recycled electronics and computers and provided computers to underprivileged communities.
2001
Founded Twin Engineering, which became RedHawk Engineering, and a design consultancy, which became RedHawk Agency.
2008
Led project teams of more than 35 people through critical document delivery on a major design-build program.
2009
Left a corporate career to focus on non-profit work overseas. Continued engineering and consulting through various businesses.
2026
Relocated to the USA and brought it all together as RedHawk Agency.

Our story
Years ago, we decided to get involved in non-profit work overseas. The work was unpaid, so we had to find work we could do remotely. We learned IT, web development, bookkeeping and programming.
Along the way, we ran a Chinese consulting company, an Indian outsourcing company and, in the USA, an auto dealership, a construction company, and tech support and consulting businesses. Each one taught us something about getting complicated work done with good people, wherever they happen to be. Those companies are closed now.
Today we bring what they taught us to other AEC companies, from a base in the Sierra Nevada.

How we think
We collect problutions.
A problution is a problem plus a potential solution. They tend to pile up in our heads until one collides with another, and the only way to get them out is to put pen to paper. Then we build something.
It's the same instinct behind everything here: Invent, Innovate, Integrate, Implement.
The team
Talk directly to the people doing the work.
